MSL Official Rules & Regulations

1. Match Format

* All games are 7v7 (6 players + 1 goalkeeper).
* Matches consist of two 25‑minute halves with a 5‑minute halftime.
* Slide tackling is allowed.• Severity and disciplinary action are at the referee’s discretion.

2. Equipment & Uniforms

* Jerseys have not arrived yet; pinnies will be used for Week 1 only.
* Players must wear indoor or turf shoes.• No cleats allowed.

* All players must remove jewelry before kickoff.
* Teams must walk up to the referee together before each match for:• Attendance check
* Roster verification
* Jewelry check

3. Attendance & Eligibility

* Players must arrive at least 15 minutes before kickoff.
* If your name is not on the roster, you cannot play.
* If you have not paid your fees, you cannot play.
* ZERO callups are allowed in this league.
* A player may only be replaced if they are injured and fully removed from the squad.
* To be eligible for playoffs, a player must have played a minimum of 6 regular‑season games, verified through attendance records.

4. Discipline & Conduct

Fighting

* Zero tolerance.
* Any fight results in an automatic match ban.• Length of suspension depends on severity.
* Severe cases may result in ejection from the league.

* All fights will be followed by a private meeting with the players involved.


Language & Behaviour

* Swearing at players on other teams = immediate yellow card (no warning).
* Respect for referees, opponents, and teammates is mandatory.


Referee Abuse

* Verbal or physical abuse toward referees results in an automatic red card.
* Additional suspensions may be applied depending on severity.


Cards

* Yellow cards do NOT carry over between games.
* Straight red card = 1‑game suspension.

5. Forfeits

A team may forfeit under the following conditions:

Late Arrival Penalties

* If a team is 5 minutes late, they begin the match with a 1‑goal deficit.
* For each additional minute after the 5‑minute mark, 1 more goal is added against them.• Example: 8 minutes late = 3–0 start for the opponent.

Automatic Forfeit

* If a team is 10 minutes late, they are disqualified and the match is forfeited.
* If a team cannot field at least 5 players by the 10‑minute mark, they are disqualified.

6. Post‑Game Protocol

* At the end of each match, teams must line up behind their captain and shake hands with the opposing team.

7. Administrative Rules

* Referees have full authority over:• Fouls
* Slide tackle severity
* Discipline
* Match control

* Any disputes or concerns must be brought to the league organizers after the match.
